Neighborhood Boundaries

The boundaries are 6th Avenue to the north, West Alameda Avenue to the south, Harlan Street to the east and Wadsworth Boulevard to the west.

Sustain O'Kane Neighborhood Initiatives

Bee Safe Neighborhood
Launch the Bee Safe Program in our neighborhood and create an environment that is safe for bees and other pollinators.

Community Need and Connection
Create programs to help those in need in our neighborhood, including but not limited to food insecurity; "buddy" programs (ex. snow buddies); addressing loneliness; identifying ways to help the homeless in the neighborhood.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
Educate the community on ways to divert waste from the landfill.

Composting
Identify opportunities to learn about backyard composting and make curbside composting available in the community.

Bicycle Education
Provide opportunities for the community that encourage bike riding for fun or as a mode of transportation.

Energy
Create opportunities for residents to save money and help the environment by participating in energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. 

Outreach and Communications
Develop and maintain a strong outreach plan for the Sustain O'Kane team. Provide assistance managing outreach channels and identifying new ways to get neighbors involved.
