The Green Mountain neighborhood joined the Sustainable Neighborhoods Program in June 2017. The neighborhood is bounded by W. Alameda Parkway, S. Union Boulevard, W. Jewell Avenue, W. Yale Avenue and Bear Creek Boulevard.
Identify needs in the community and provide donations and/or volunteer assistance to support the health, education and well being of our neighbors. New Energy Campaign Promote energy conservation and the use of renewable energy sources throughout the neighborhood. Consolidating Trash Providers Improve safety, decrease traffic, pollution, and road deterioration by reducing the number of trash companies in our neighborhood. Bee-Safe Community Enhance our environment to protect bees and other pollinators. Shrink our Waste Recycle/Reduce/Reuse and Compost to decrease waste in our neighborhood. Recycling Resources for Lakewood: Quail Street Recycling Center Where to Recycle Other Materials Rooney Road Recycling Urban Gardens and Water Conservation Make organic produce available and affordable to our community. Decrease water needs while enhancing our neighborhood landscape. Active Community and Transportation Improve our health with fun activities and decrease our dependence on cars. Healthy Green Mountain Ecosystems Preserve our unique ecosystems with native plants and trees. Living cohesively with wildlife.
