Harvey Park will focus on increasing community engagement, social justice, and environmental stewardship by:

- Promoting alternative landscaping, such as fruit and vegetable gardens and xeriscaping, to address food security and resource conservation issues
- Educating neighbors about water conservation and water-saving techniques such as household rain barrels
- Increasing participation in recycling and composting programs and educating neighbors on how to reduce the amount of waste they create in the first place to decrease the amount of waste going to the landfill and ending up on the streets as litter
